Road to the South

Next morning the grandeur of the sun wakes us. Hiting the restaurant for a nice breakfast. What are the French doing? Just two little pieces of bread and some strong coffee. Where are my beans, sausages and eggs? Oh yeah, I'm in France! Just before taking the wheel the white dog looked at us with his hazelnuts brown eyes and asked for another hunt. Hi papa I didn't forget about the lost hunt yesterday evening. Can I give it another try ?
I had the impression the dog is mastering me, instead of me mastering the dog. Some stretching exercises and there he goes like a rocket on the lawn. But the cat laughed and said : You are a poor slow dog, mate. I'm at home bloody foreigner. Get lost. Finally he jumps into the car and we leave the promises of the Happy Auberge.
Another 550km to go by following the yellow rear end of a van. A million hills up and down. And then, suddenly smoke comes out the frontside of the van. An emergency stop on the road side and checking the van. Brakes are smoking like hell. The van is overloaded and the brakes overheated. Another 150 km to go with almost no brakes. Go for it Many, be a great girl.  Tourists along the road look supprised at a van that goes down the hill at 80km/ph without any use of the brakes.
No lunch, but trying to get it over with and arriving safely at our destination.

Dogs paradise. What a hell, the first meeting is hectic. 4 dogs are waiting to be greeting us and our dogs are wondering what the hell is going on. Who are those bloody French creeps ?

The Final voyage

You can talk for several years about a dream and stay at the same point. You can also dream and try to make it come true. I think that is what we did. After many years of working, fighting, struggling we made the last voyage. I sounds sad, but it isn't. A dream came true. Troughout the different posts I will give an overview of what daily life is for two tired people. We packed all our stuff, loaded into a container and started the big trip to the South of France.
A lorry made the trip easier for daily purposes and a wee Bentley followed gently for daily trips. The first day we drove about 520km and arrived at a sign who was promising. Auberge du Bonheur, you must admit a wonderfull name.
You expect an old fashioned auberge with the typical French cuisine. So finally you meet the owner and it seems to be a Chinese gentleman. The whole staff was Chinese. But anyhow we will give it a try. Ordering a nice bottle of wine, and a starter "shrimpsalade and a Seaman's plate"  for the the lady. Right there you see the Chinese master chef , three baby shrimps and a bottle of sauce, for the lettuce. The fisherman's plate looks great but where is the fish.  We live at risk so we ordered a steak, medium done. It was melting away, great quality for a fair price. Finally we hit for the room.

Our dogs took a stroul in the woods near the promises and whitey saw his dinner. A yellow cat wandering in front of the terrace and the dog tought I'm going on hunt, master said one bite one kill. Lucky for the cat she was a lot faster then the dog. The morning after we had a bright sunlight and heard lots of noise outside. Just have a look and for a second I tought I was back in Nam. Several Chinese labourers run around to dig a pool at the promises. I asked their permission to take pictures and the laughed and smiled happily
These people are happy they work in very hot temparature and they stay on smiling.
